Lifesaving Society Programs: Bronze Medallion & Emergency First Aid with CPR-B

At Toronto Swim School, we proudly offer Bronze Medallion and Emergency First Aid with CPR-B, two essential programs designed to equip participants with lifesaving skills, water safety expertise, and first aid knowledge. These courses are perfect for anyone looking to build confidence, enhance safety awareness, or take the first step toward becoming a certified lifeguard.

Bronze Medallion

The Bronze Medallion course lays the foundation for lifesaving and water-rescue skills. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the four core components of lifesaving:
• Judgment: Assess risks and make critical decisions in emergency situations.
• Fitness: Build the strength and endurance required for demanding rescues.
• Knowledge: Learn rescue strategies, safety protocols, and risk prevention.
• Skill: Master essential techniques like tows, carries, defence methods, and releases.

This course includes advanced water-rescue techniques to handle both conscious and unconscious victims. Lifesavers also work on stroke efficiency and complete a timed swim challenge to improve endurance. Whether you’re pursuing a lifeguarding career or simply want to increase your safety skills, Bronze Medallion is an excellent choice.

Emergency First Aid with CPR-B

This Emergency First Aid with CPR-B program prepares participants to confidently manage emergencies and provide essential care. The course focuses on:
• First Aid for Common Injuries: Learn how to treat wounds, fractures, and burns.
• Shock Management: Understand how to reduce shock and stabilize patients.
• Cardiovascular Emergencies: Recognize and respond to heart attacks, strokes, and breathing emergencies in adults, children, and infants.
• Life-Saving Techniques: Develop critical skills to act effectively under pressure without panic or confusion.

The course emphasizes hands-on training with professional equipment and practical scenarios, ensuring participants are well-prepared for real-life situations.

Course Materials and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

All participants will receive a CPR mask, gloves, and the Canadian Lifesaving Manual on the first day of class. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory and assessed as part of the course to ensure participants are prepared for real-world emergencies.
